Group Offerings

  • Skills Groups

The skills groups are part of the full model DBT treatment program. As part of a participant’s treatment in our full model program, it is expected that the client attends a weekly 2-hour skills group after they finish the orientation and commitment process. These groups are considered “Closed Groups” in which to join one of these groups you must be seeing one of our clinicians for individual therapy and have been admitted to our program at DBT of KC.

  • Booster Groups

After a client successfully completes the full model DBT Treatment here through DBT of KC, we invite them to return for a monthly skills “Booster Group.” Each booster group will spend 90 minutes reviewing an important skill learned during their time in the program to keep a continued focus on skills long after you’ve completed the weekly skills training.

Participants must have graduated from DBT of KC. As of now, our booster groups are only serving our adult population aged 18 or older. The group fee associated with this booster group is $50. Insurance can be applied toward the cost if applicable.

  • Supporting BPD Workshops

These workshop serve as a support for the families and loved ones or supports for those who may struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder. The goal of these workshops is to develop an understanding of your loved one's diagnosis and struggles in a compassionate way. We focus on learning how to effectively support and encourage your loved one while also improving your own self-care and healthy boundaries.

These workshops are open to anyone in the community even if their loved one does not attend DBT of KC. We absolutely encourage our client’s be supported by their loved ones in this way. The fee associated with this Workshop is $100 and this is a self-pay fee not applicable to insurance.
